Convert Your Existing Data - Save Your Valuable Data

The data you have in your spreadsheet, database, or word processor can be the basis of a powerful head start for your work with Gage Management System.

We want you to be able to use GMS effectively and quickly to improve the quality of the work you do. By using data that you may already have in other less powerful calibration software packages, spreadsheets, or databases, we can convert this data into files that GMS can immediately use. This will save you valuable time as you begin using GMS by avoiding the task of reentry. We have extensive experience with conversions of data of almost any type.

Cost is always an important factor. For that reason we keep the cost low. Typical conversions range from $200 to $500 and can be completed in only two to three days. For firm conversion price quotes, all we need is a copy of your data and answers to a few simple questions.

So don't let your investment in the data you have accumulated in an older system be an impediment to your upgrading now to the power and flexibility of the Gage Management System.

What do we need from you?

  1. Your data should be in an ASCII, Paradox, Dbase, or FoxPro file format. Other formats should be avoided due to the difficulty of their use.
  2. A clear description (written) of the data in the record. This should be a detailed description of each filed as it exists in the record. Some refer to this as a field map of the record.
  3. Clear descriptions of any codes or abbreviations used in any of the fields. This allows us to make a clean and accurate conversion for you.

How should you send it to us?

  1. Files should be shipped to us on CD's, or by email ONLY!. Do not send tapes, 5 1/4 or 3 1/2 diskettes, or ZIP / JAZ cartridges. If your files are too large to email, use a CD-ROM or use PKZip or WinZip to compress your files for email.
  2. Ship it to us by Federal Express. They seem to take the best care of magnetic media if you mark it as such.

How will we return it to you?

  1. When your data is converted, it will be returned to you in a compressed, self-extracting file with a utility to install it. No special skill or computer knowledge is required to install it once you receive it from us. We will use e-mail or Federal Express as you prefer.
  2. Once installed, you are ready to begin working with your converted data.
